Primary School Management

 At St Patrick’s CBC Kimberley, the Primary School is led
by a dedicated team focused on each child’s growth and
wellbeing. Mr Peter Hauman, Head of Primary School,
guides with a vision of balanced excellence in academics
and character. He is supported by Mrs Micaila Ward,
Deputy Head, who ensures this ethos is lived daily in
every classroom. Mrs Ulana van Loggerenberg, Senior
Primary Phase Head, oversees the development of our
older learners, while Mrs Candace Ramsay, Foundation
Phase Head, provides a caring start for our youngest
pupils. Together, they create a warm, holistic, and inspiring
environment where every child can thrive.

Life at the Primary School

At our Primary School, we strive to provide a caring environment which fosters the educational, physical, social and cultural development of all pupils, allowing them to achieve their maximum potential in an environment in which they feel like they belong.

The Primary School Initiative, or PSI, was designed and launched in 2015 to complement the IEB’s product offering to independent schools.

What is the PSI

The Primary School Initiative aims to broaden the awareness of the importance of good teaching and assessment practices at the primary school level and aims to produce a student who is:

  • Equipped with knowledge.
  • A meaning-maker.
  • An ethical reasoner.
  • Possesses the 21st century skills of communication, critical thinking, collaboration and creativity.
